Computer accessories (mouse, keyboard etc.) can impact your budget quite a lot… But it does have to!

In this article we are covering mouses, keyboards, sound input and output… For the displays, we you will see another article and another video. With these items, it is important not too overpay, but when it comes to sound — not to be too stingy.

Mouses and keyboards

A perfectly decent mouse can easily be found under 10 dollars, but you do have two general options to choose from — traditional and wireless. Now, the advice here is to go with a normal one (with a wire) unless you absolutely have to go wireless. Changing batteries will be expensive, but even worst — they do not actually fail gracefully. When the battery reaches some low point in its’ capacity, the mouse will start lagging and become extremely annoying, and this will last for a while, before it actually fails. Also, it is preferable to get one with only the basic buttons — left, right and them middle (scroll). Any additional buttons are not that useful, they can become annoying and even cause problems.

For the keyboards, you mostly have to look for ones that have all the proper buttons and a numpad.

This example shows a nice and simple keyboard, nothing too fancy — but everything you need is there and it is not expensive.

Sound (in and out)

Sound is a tricky one, some businesses do need something extremely high-quality, but most need only something decent. Now, in terms of sound quality decent is not the cheapest option. When it comes to keyboards and mouses something for couple of bucks can be perfectly fine, but microphones is a different story. We will now look at couple of options, in terms of sound input, one will be upscale and the other more reasonable.

The samson meteor mic is a more upscale option, it is also a USB microphone, which will make your life easier. Now, if you really have to work with sound — do lecture, webinars and speeches, then this is a choice for you. If you want to hear what it sounds like, take a look at the video, as this is the microphone used for it.

Now then, for a more reasonable option — we have a headset. The better ones will usually be a bit more playful, they will have lights and they will be quite bright. But besides that, they are perfectly decent for business environment use. What the video for more information on how to pick the right headset for your device.
